Sulphur Springs 2010 Bootcamp Results

I wanted to report in about the changes I discovered at evaluations
last Saturday.

Since January 2010, Ive lost 5.4 inches, 8% body fat and my BMI went
down 2.8. I've also lost 6.5 lbs. Not alot on the scale but I've gone
from a size 10 (and sometimes12) to a size 6 (and sometimes 4)

That's the physical changes. I've also gained so much confidence.  I
don't mind being in a bathing suit this summer!  I DO NOT look like
the girls in the magazine but I'm not as jiggly and lumpy!  I'm also
wearing sleeveless tops for the first time in years. Again not perfect
but not so jiggly!  Another area of confidence mental.  I'm not afraid
to physically try new things. We travel quite a bit with my husbands
job. I find myself eager to try hiking up a mountain, white water
rafting, walking several miles...I used to dread those activities but
not anymore!

Thanks for all you do. I really appreciate the push and the
oppertunity to workout each morning!

I joined P31 in late January after having my
adorable son in October.  I want to tell you that through P31 and the
grace of God, my entire life has changed!

I began the program in what I considered decent shape, but was very unhappy with excess fat and the overall appearance of my physique.  I did not have a significant amount of weight to lose, but being a perfectionist and control freak, I wanted to look and feel the best that I could.  When I began the classes, I could barely lift my 5 pound weights through all the reps and struggled to run at all.

My goal was to lose 10 pounds and 10% body fat.  I had Rachel do a nutritional program and followed it very strictly—allowing myself the occasional treat.  I started the program strong, added some personal training sessions, made Juice Plus+ a part of my life and gave it my all, but the results just didn’t seem to come.  I went through lots of ups and downs emotionally struggling with my inability to allow my body the time it needed to make change.  I wanted instant results!  I kept listening to the trainers talk about how it would take time, but the frustration was still very hard to deal with.  I would spend several minutes each evening staring at my body in the mirror just crying.  I refused to give up and stuck with it though.  It was about 4 months into P31 that I realized I had to give it to God and trust him with the direction he had for me.  I quit obsessing over my appearance and began focusing on the improvement I was making to my health.

 THEN, it happened!

I began to lose weight, I began to build muscle, I could sprint faster
than ever, do more push-ups than ever and on and on.  I realize now that
God needed me to recognize HIS plan---not MY plan.  I had to see that this
is all a journey; not a quick fix.  This is a life-long commitment to be
healthy.  I have now lost the 10 pounds I wanted, as well as, 5 total
inches and I feel amazing.  I wake up in the mornings and look forward to
taking care of my emotional, physical, mental and spiritual well-being.  I
still have to follow a very healthy diet and work very hard, but the
results are worth it.  I am happier and healthier than ever, which makes
me a better Mom, Wife and servant to God.  I wanted to share this for
anyone struggling with seeing results.  It takes time.  Don’t give
up---it WILL happen for you.

I began doing the M-W-F classes in September 2009
and slowly added the T-Th cardio class.  After a while I began to do the
evening classes also.  I would find that  after the morning workout I
would think "Ok, I'm not going this afternoon.  I've already worked out
hard enough."  However, by the time 5:00 would roll around, I was putting
my clothes back on and going back for more!!  I started to crave this
madness!!

I compare P31 classes and Bootcamp to childbirth.  Every day, during class
when I am hurting, I think "I am NEVER doing this again!!! This is
crazy!!"  However, after we stretch and cool down, I get up and hobble to
my car thinking "Hey, that was kinda fun!! That really wasn't that bad!!"
Then the next day during class I remember how bad the pain is and start
the whole process over!!! ha ha

The positive thing about it being like childbirth is that the end result
is definitely worth it!! Knowing that I am getting stronger every day and
can do more push ups and hold planks longer than ever before makes me feel
great!  I have lost more inches than pounds - therefore, I stay off the
scales!!  P31 has been awesome for me! I look forward to going and being
with a great group of ladies every day and challenging myself both
physically and mentally.
I cannot say enough good things (despite what I may think and whisper in
class - ha ha) about Rachel, Amber, and Jennifer.  Your commitment to our
group and the Lord is awesome!! THANK YOU!!!

I have begun working out with P31 Fitness for the primary goal of weight loss.  While this takes time, I am noticing a surprising added benefit of regular physical exercise.  As a migraine sufferer, I have had my share of headaches, and in the past nine months, they have only become more frequent and more painful.  In the fall, I even had some kind of headache for 22 consecutive days.  Since I have begun working out with P31 Fitness in June, I haven't had even ONE headache in the past 23 days.  I cannot remember a time when I have been this headache-free in the last ten years.

I am so thankful that God put P31 in my life!
I found out my aunt, Angi Edwards was doing P31 and was encouraged to join her.
I started going to the M,W,F evening classes in April 2010 and enjoyed almost every minute of it. I then decided to make the commitment to myself to try out Bootcamp.  Having been late to work (at 8 a.m.) almost every day for a year, this was a big deal.  And a great one! I am so excited not just with the results on the outside, I have lost 12 lbs since starting, but also with how much better I feel on the inside.  I have more energy, which is huge with a one year old.  It is also very encouraging to have started out having such a hard time doing this stuff and now being able to do the harder stuff!

Doing P31 really makes me want to be more healthy.  The Power of 4 is awesome!  I think about how God wants to me to handle situations more and I am more aware of the areas that I need to work on spiritually to be the P31 woman.  The daily devotionals are a great too!  There are some days that I get them and think "Wow, was He talking to me or what!"  Keep up the great work P31 trainers.  You ladies are helping to mold all of us into better women! You are amazing and I thank God every day for putting you here!

I joined P31 classes in April of 2010, and reluctantly agreed to BC 1 and 2 for this summer.  I am here to tell you this program has improved my life in areas I never dreamed possible.  I had back surgery less than a year ago for a ruptured disk, yet still had to keep taking 4 Motrin twice a day to keep the pain managed.  I decided that I needed help to lose weight and become stronger, so I chose P31.  In just the short time I've been attending morning classes and a few evening sessions, I have strengthened my abs and back muscles to the point I am pain-free.  I have Rachel and her associates to thank for this success.  My dress size is also going down and I am healthier than I've been in years! I am loving BC and have accomplished physical challenges never before attempted...and I love it.  THANKS to Rachel, Jennifer, and Amber for all your support and teaching me to believe in myself.

Sulphur Springs, TX Megan Akins

I have tried P31 several times, and I would set a goal to stay with it. As life would get hectic though, I would put my exercising on the back-burner, but this last month I completed every M-W-F am class! I am proud of myself and plan to continue. Thank you P31!

Powerful Testimonial from Sheri Looney, SS Member

My name is Sheri Looney. In June 2009, at age 45, I found myself very overweight, out-of-shape
and ready to make a change. I have had weight issues for a long time, and I’ve even gone through an eating disorder.

I had read about the upcoming P31 Boot Camp in the newspaper, and I thought maybe I could give it a try. I had already heard good things about it from my niece, Kelsey, who assured me that that I could go at my own pace. She even signed up for Boot Camp to help support me. I’ll be honest – it was really hard at first; in fact, there were some hot summer mornings running around the tennis court at Buford Park when I thought I couldn’t go another step, and then I would get encouragement from the trainers or someone I didn’t even know and I would think, “Okay, I can do this, just keep going.” So, I kept going, and today, almost nine months later, I’ve lost 85 pounds, 33 inches and 18% body fat. I work out every morning and some afternoons, and I love it!! I remember thinking on day one of Boot Camp that P31 was going to help change my life, and I was right. Of course, the outward weight loss is the most obvious change, but P31 has helped me make so many other changes as well on the inside. The spiritual focus on God that P31 emphasizes is so important and has helped me to refocus and reprioritize things in my life that I had neglected. I love the Power of 4 and the way that I’ve been able to apply them to my daily life to make changes for the better.

I’m less stressed, more grateful for what I have, and I just feel better about myself . I think
empowered is the best word I could use to describe the way I feel now. I can do things now that I never thought I’d be able to do, and that is an amazing feeling.

I also love the fact that all of the trainers emphasize that it’s not about the number on the scale, but more about eating foods that are good for us, working out and being healthy. It took some time to change my way of thinking, and there are some days that I still struggle with it, but I always know that I can talk to any of the trainers and they will be willing to listen and give advice and encouragement. The support I receive from Rachel, Jennifer, Amber and Kelly through their leadership and their encouragement has been a big part of my success so far. I think they all bring out the best in everyone in the way they lead by example in their own unique ways. Also, working out with a group of women who care if you’re not there and encourage you when you are has been a big part of the process. At first, I was nervous about working out with people I didn’t know, but now I’ve made friends with women I would not have otherwise met. Almost every day, someone asks me how I’ve lost the weight, and when I tell them P31 Fitness, most will say, “Oh, I could never do that,” but I always tell them, “Yes, you can, because if I can, ANYONE can.” I encourage anyone who wants to make positive changes in their life, physically, spiritually, mentally and emotionally, to try P31 Fitness. It is definitely one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

AFTER ONE YEAR with P31 FITNESS:
I've lost 100 pounds, 42 inches, reduced my body fat 21.8% and reduced my BMI by 16 points.

I would have never been able to do it without P31 Fitness!

I wanted to tell you that I am enjoying p31 immensely!!  I have never worked as hard as I am now.  I am trusting God that attending class will become like second nature to me and become a part of who I am.  Thank you for being an awesome leader and providing challenging exercise routines.  I know that my spirit and health will continued to be blessed by p31.

Thank you for offering the all access pass, it is great. It gives me so much more flexibility with my schedule plus the advantage of getting in extra workouts. I go to more classes than I thought I could because of all the choices. Each class is different and I get a different result. Thank you for making this available.

P31 Fitness Member Nov 2009

P31 is life changing! It's a commitment and you must be ready for that commitment. Women think they can't do certain things and through P31 we realized that we can. Thanks for P31 and the difference it has made.

P31 Fitness Member Nov 2009

I LOVE P31!
I love the way the trainers are so positive, caring, and encouraging.
Being a part of the group makes me more accountable. I am blessed by P31's commitment to the Spiritual, Mental, and Physical aspects of women.
P31 leads women to a higher level of awareness and appreciation for our true purpose here as christian women.

What an awesome ministry you have. You have no idea how far the blessings of what you do reach.

Since coming to P31--I am stronger, healthier, and happier (physically, spiritually, mentally & emotionally). Thus I am a better wife, mother, sister, daughter, friend, & employee. So that everyone I know is blessed by what God is doing through you--Amazing!

I have lost 40-50 lbs. to date since I first came last fall!!

P31 Fitness Member 2009

I was sitting here at my desk and looked in my little pile of paperwork by my calculator and laying there was my New Year's Resolutions that you gave us. I cannot believe how fast time has gone!! I have just finished the 9th month with you either on sessions of boot camp and can tell you, I am much stronger for having gone through this.

I have also thought about what you said. I am wasting my time if my nutrition isn't good and I think for the last nine months, as I have been trying to incorporate good changes into my eating habits, I have a long way to go. As we grow older, our bodies change and it's almost like we must work harder to keep up with those changes. In order to do that, we have to stay strong physically, mentally and spiritually. You have plugged in on each of those area's of our lives with this class and I'm very greatful for you and your commitment to serving God and in the process, helping us.

I pray for a wonderful entrance into the world for Baby Madison and pray for you and your husband!! What a blessing for you all.

P31 Fitness Member 2009

The summer boot camp was an awesome experience for me. It is amazing to see what God can do when women in a community join together to change. For me personnally, I was blessed to realize the truth in what you pointed out to us: I am so much more than just a number on a scale. Thank you for showing all of us what our potential truly is!!!

P31 Fitness Member 2009

Although it is nothing compared to what you offer and at first I was so disappointed, I have come to realize that I control how effective my workout is each day. The changes that your boot camp has made in my life have been unreal. You are truly a blessing and P31 Fitness is a wonderful ministry. I have been telling my husband how badly Commerce needs something like what you have in Sulphur Springs. Making a difference in the lives of women can change an entire community. Thank you for everything and God Bless you and your sweet family. I look forward to the fall!!

We talked at post-evaluations about what my doctor said to me about me gaining half a pound....well, when I compared my results, I lost 3 inches in my hips, 1 inch in my arms, and 1/2 or an inch in my waist. That is such a testimony to exactly what it is you are trying to get women to realize. Every person, including myself, IS more than just a number. Thanks for making me realize that!!!

P31 Fitness Member 2009

I Just want to say I made it through both Boot Camps and I am down to a size 12. I refuse to let myself go like I had before getting envolved with this group of Awesome Women!! Keep up the Kingdom Work through Fitness!!

P31 Fitness Member 2009

Our workout Thursday morning was killer! My arms are dying, and I mean that in a good way! The soreness is my own little mental trophy during the day to remind myself that I have done something good for myself. Rachel, I am more committed to this class than I have ever been to any other exercise venture, and it's thanks to you! I still don't love exercise (will that ever come?), but I do love the satisfaction, strength and especially the fellowship that your class brings. Many thanks for sharing your gifts with us all!

I absolutely love yoga...I can actually say that I really noticed a change in my body shape after doing yoga for a few months. I used to have trouble with my neck and back, but because of yoga I have not experienced that pain in years. Thank you.

I am finally seeing results. For the first time in two years, I "quote" slid on a pair of jeans. Thank you for pushing me to do more than what I would have done on my own. It's all begining to pay-off.

Bootcamp Survivor 2009

Bootcamp was an anointed and perfectly timed experience for me. I had a baby in February and was determined to take off the weight plus some that I needed to lose before I got pregnant. I have never actually spent my Summer off getting up everyday before 6:00 so that I could workout. Now, I look forward to it and miss it when I don't do at least something on the days when we don't workout with Rachel. I have lost 13 pounds and a pant size. God is good!! May he continue to bless the efforts of Rachel and all of us who are involved!

Bootcamp Survivor 2009

First of all, To God Be The Glory for the great things He has done in and through you R. Curtis. This has been one of the most enjoyable summers in a long time for me. I must say that it has been hard work but I can truly see and feel the results of what has taken place physically and mentally and not to mention how my spiritual life has been blessed. Thank you so much for allowing God to use you in helping others. That is what we are here to do and you give your all in doing what you can to help us be successful. Thanks for believing in us and pushing us to the next level. I would not be where I am today if you had not seen the vision and acted on it. Thanks for a job well done in BootCamp 2009. Looking forward to more to come.

Bootcamp Survivor 2009

I would like you to know that I have enjoyed every minute of these bootcamp workouts. You do know that without it, I could not have taken my fitness goals to the next level. I wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart. You truly have been my inspiration to get up
and get going every day. With your support through all this past 8 months both in the summer bootcamp and the earlier aerobics classes during the past school year, I have been able to exceed my goals and have enjoyed my new found energy. Thanks for everything. Hope to see you this fall in your 4-week sessions.

Bootcamp Survivor 2009

Just wanted to say thank you for a great six weeks adventure!! Fitness wise....it was great....I loved getting up in the morning and coming to workout....sweat and even do yoga...:) Spiritually-it was like a booster shot.

This past weekend I was at a little weekend reunion that 12 of us -girlfriends from high school-have every year and I started showing them different things from boot camp. I think I am addicted......:)

Anyway, just wanted to thank you. I think this whole six weeks was a "God thing"!

Bootcamp Survivor 2008

Bootcamp was AWESOME! There was a real sister-hood among the women. We were all there for one thing,(to get fit) But every morning, God met us there with his Peace and Love. I believe we are all better women because of it. I thank God for allowing Coach Curtis to use her for us. Thanks Coach!! Continue to be a Light For God!

Bootcamp Survivor 2008

God has sent you as my personal blessing through your P31 Fitness ministry. Thank you for giving of yourself to help me be a better person both spiritually and physically. I encourage every woman to come and experience your infectous godly spirit and enthusiasm for a healthy body, mind, and soul. I carry it with me all day and strive to pass it on to others. I love the daily scriptures, whole foods approach to nutrition, all the encouraging words and the push we get during workouts. You are awesome!

Bootcamp Survivor 2008

I have thoroughly enjoyed our first week of boot camp!  I can't wait to come to class next week!  It's most definitely going to help me accomplish some things that I have always said I want to do.  Boot camp is really going to help me achieve my goals.   Can't wait to workout again Monday!

Bootcamp Survivor 2008

I think your boot camp is awesome.  It's hard work but it's worth it.  I feel so much better.

Bootcamp Survivor 2008

Thanks for reminding me to listen...to my body, to my God, and to identify those voices (...half the battle).  You are ministering to the whole person, and I am grateful.

Bootcamp Survivor 2008

Since I have been attending this bootcamp, my body is now in better shape on the inside and out. My husband now wants to know where I'm going, how long I will be gone, and most importantly when I am coming home. I'm loving the fact that he is once again asking. Thank you for helping make this possible. It has truely blessed our marriage.

Bootcamp Survivor 2008

I think that I'm addicted to the workouts now!
My husband came home on Thursday night after being gone since Monday and could not believe my shrinkage!

Bootcamp Survivor 2008

Thank you so much for your dedication to us ladies! I have loved the workouts and I'm starting to see results...The main positive thing is that I feel great and have so much more energy!  I'm listening to my body and have made some really great strides in my eating habits.  Thanks for getting me back on track and motivating me so much.

I can tell that all of the ladies are really getting in better shape.  The notebook is also really wonderful.  I can't tell you the last time that I focused on myself and read things that were interesting to me.

I can't go a day without working out now and I think some of the other ladies feel the same way.  Anyway, thanks again for everything and my family thanks you also!

Bootcamp Survivor 2008

I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy this class and what it has done, so far, for my health!  Before I started with the boot camp I had gone to my doctor for an all over check-up.  I was at 211 lbs. and had total cholesterol of almost 300, and lets not even talk about my triglycerides.  Well...I had a follow up last Friday and I got the results just a minute ago!  Are you ready for this?!?  My total cholesterol is 167 and my bad cholesterol is only about 75.  My triglycerides are basically none existent!!!  Yeah me!!!  I am taking medication, but I have taken it in the past without this much success.  My overall goal is to get completely off the meds.  I know that we don't look at the pounds but I am down to 203 as well.  Thank you so much for helping me get off of my butt and get active.  We have made several changes in our diet at home and no one really seems to notice.  We still have the occasional cookie or treat but not as often.  Thanks again and see you next week!

Bootcamp Survivor 2008

I never expected our boot camp to be like this and I'm glad because it is really pushing us to be all we can be.

Bootcamp Survivor 2008

My husband has to be at work at 3 am, so one of my parents get up and comes watch my children every morning.  So, I have a lot of support in my fitness journey.  I think it is a great program and I pray that this continues to grow.  You are a great motivator, and you understand that we are all at different stages in our fitness and you adjust the workouts to that.  That is what really keeps me going, so again... Thank you.  I will be doing more sessions with you after completion of bootcamp.

Bootcamp Survivor 2008

Thank you for pushing us!  Last Monday or Tuesday I would not have said that.  But what a difference a week makes.  Yes, I am still sore and everyday think that I might die... But, I really am enjoying Boot Camp!  I love how you are using scripture; it really puts taking care of myself into perspective!  And, thank you most of all this week for talking about not worrying so much about our weight!!!  I have always struggled with the number on the scale because all of the "charts" say that for my age and height I should be a number that has been very hard to achieve.  I am 5'5 and 167 lbs.  I am not going to worry about the number anymore. I will listen to my body and eat to be healthy.  It is not about a number, but about health and body composition! See you Monday morning, bright and early!

Bootcamp Survivor 2008

Boot camp has been excellent. It was a challenge for me last week to ensure physical activity on my own, when we didn’t have class, but I managed to do at least 4 days of actual good exercise.  The other days I was out and about with family, but not a couch potato.  As well, I was overly excited to roll out of bed this morning and get a good workout and get back into “Boot Camp” mode!

Bootcamp Survivor 2008

I just wanted to say thanks!  You are such an inspiration to so many women and you are helping to make a difference in their lives. I truly am thankful for you and your dedication to the boot camp.  I am enjoying getting my rear kicked.

Bootcamp Survivor 2008

I have been wanting to thank you for teaching BOOT CAMP. Although I was only able to attend for 30 minutes on Monday and missed the rest of the week, it has still been an encouragement to me.  I remembered you saying Last week to keep moving over the weekend, so when I couldn't come on Tue, Weds, or Thurs I still heard your voice encouraging me to "do Something", and I did.  I actually kind of like having sore muscles, it lets me know I was doing something good for myself.:)
